Servant leadership is recently used to describe the powerful people that are responsible for the daily running of companies. These people include company’s executives and managers. However, its purpose is the same to serve others by helping them to attain their objectives and goals (Hollis, 2017). From the article, Servant leadership is characterized by one gaining the relevant leadership qualities that show the voice of a leader who is ready to serve others. Currently, as a servant leader, one requires being having qualities such as being competent, ethical and of all trustworthy. Now it is easy for employees to distinguish between true leaders from a fake one, hence one should show strong character (Hollis, 2017).

It is also important for the servant leader to have a good knowledge about the latest technology to ease his/her communication with employees. The leaders set goals and encourage the workers to work towards set goals. Through interactions, the leaders are able to convince workers on the importance of focusing on one direction. The servant leaders also help to serve and meet the worker’s needs. They are able to establish a good rapport with the workers due to continued interaction, hence the workers feel free to communicate their wants. Due to the established relationship, the workers feel motivated to work, hence increasing their productivity (Davenport, 2014). The leader is supposed to predict trends expected in the industry in which the company works under (Davenport, 2014). This will give the company a humble time preparing for the future hence remaining in a good position to compete with the competitors.

Servant leaders are supposed to empower and inspire others. The leader is no longer seen as a dictator but as a person who communicates and consults his/her workers. Creating an enabling environment for employees to manifest their talents and skills is also a trend that servant leadership is taking (Hollis, 2017). This is done by offering gifts to those who perform and also allowing employees to participate in other activities that are not related to work. The companies have also a clear vision and strategy that will help them to attain their objective. It expounds on creating the sense of belonging and responsibility among the employees. There is development in technology that has helped in creating suitable employees working conditions and acts as an incentive for the employees improving their productivity (Hollis, 2017). According to me, I could apply the trends in the servant leadership since there is an improvement in the leader-servant relationship.
