Introduction

Mobile and wireless systems have been the greatest evolved technologies that have to change the state of living in the current world. This segment of technology is fast growing in the communication industry. Mobile and wireless systems have a huge impact on our today lives and are applied in every call we make, every time we use our computers for video or verbal calls and whenever we watch televisions. The wireless principle of communication is applied when there is the delivery of a message electronically and technologically.

Wireless communication continues to get better with the discovery of new technologies like the 4G technology, which allows communication to be fast and highly reliable. In addition, data transfer speeds continue to enhance, and a significant change has been seen since the first systems which were 1G to current systems which are 4G technologically improved. Mobile and wireless communications and systems continue to change our way of communication making the world a global village. Geographical distance is no more a problem since wireless communication has intervened making the geographical distance insignificant.

Wireless and Mobile Computation Description

Wireless and mobile computation are two intertwined method that helps deliver the best for communication experience. First, there is the wireless computation where a message is sent electronically without any physical media. Wireless communication helps eliminate the geographical distances between two people, the sender, and receiver.  On the other hand, mobile computing can be described as infrastructure put in place to guarantee that there is seamless and reliable communication. Examples of infrastructures put in place include the services, protocols, portals, and bandwidth needed to enable and aid the services. The mobile communication itself holds wireless and mobile computation, mobile hardware and software all integrated into a complete system.

Mobile hardware includes portable devices that complete the communication of two noodles. The devices range from portable laptops, tablets, smartphones and personal digital assistants. These devices are set to either receive or send messages to other devices. In addition, these devices are designed to operate in full duplex and can send and receive signals at the same time (Lynch, 1968).

Mobile software is the program that runs mobile hardware. Types of  softwares includes the operating systems and applications installed in the operating system to ensure the system works efficiently. Software operating systems include the blackberry operating system, IOS for the Apple devices, windows mobile, Symbian operating system and Android operating system that is the widest used operating system in the current world.

Wireless Communication Types

The way of communication in the current world has been revolutionized. People now communicate with their mobile device wirelessly through platforms build in support of the devices. Wireless Communication Systems provide essential services such as transfer of voice, data, videos, images and other forms of data. Wireless communication systems available today include:

  1. Satellite communication
  2. Radar
  3. Mobile Telephone System
  4. Television and broadcasting
  5. WLAN (Wi-Fi)
  6. Paging
  7. Global Positioning System (GPS)
  8. Infrared communication
  9. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

Most of these wireless systems are used for communication differently. The systems are designed to support simplex, half-duplex and full duplex communications. Example, the radio broadcasting system, supports simplex communication configuration, which is a one-way communication. Half duplex configuration is the two communication, however, it cannot be done simultaneously. Then the full-duplex configuration, which is the best configuration and allows a two-way communication simultaneously.

Satellite communications support a worldwide range coverage to population density. The system offers telecommunication example Satellite phones, global positioning and navigation systems, broadcasting and internet. Satellite systems are essential in the way wireless communication is one in the current world. 5he technology is responsible for most of the communication applications.

In support of the satellites is the global position system, which is a system that offers services like navigation, positioning, location, and speed. The system has been used to trace people and good locations. GPS systems are also widely used by military t track their locations while at service.

Bluetooth is a current standard communication channel which is wireless. The wireless communication is used in the transfer of data. This technology has been applied to the mobile and portable devices such as the personal computers, smartphones PDAs, and car stereos. Bluetooth technology has a disadvantage of the range of distance one would communicate with a nearby device. Communication range is only limited to ten meters when this is one of its drawbacks.

Wireless local area networks are the current biggest wireless communication trends. These networking technologies offer internet related wireless services. WLAN interconnect different devices such as the personal computers and mobile phones. The different devices are connected to an access point and access internet. WLANs have significantly been used in running organizations. In addition, the communication can be wired either through LAN cables or wirelessly through the Wi-Fi.

Applied in devices such as remote controls of cars, televisions, and radios is the infrared communication. This wireless communication technology eases the way we interact with other systems by simply sending wireless commands for manipulation.

Wireless and mobile technologies have revolutionized how things are done. In the communication field, wireless technologies have ensured communication is fast and has tried to eliminate the geographical distance. Also with the introduction of other technologies like the video conferencing, students can hold online lectures with their lecturers without having to attend the schools physically. Wireless technologies have influenced other ways education is through the introduction of distance learning (Kim, Mims & Holmes, 2006). Hence, people can still work and learn through online schools. The healthcare sector has also been made better by use of wireless and mobile technology. An example is the introduction of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) which are shared among health facilities to help a patient be treated in a better way (Clifford & Clifton, 2012). In addition, creations of knowledge-based systems, which are online and can help medical officers diagnose patients faster and accurately. Wireless communication systems have also been used to enhance security example through the installation of CCTV cameras which stores data online.

Impact of mobile and wireless systems

Mobile and wireless systems hold most of the businesses and governments operations. The wireless communication technologies have made it easier for people to send messages without having to meet. Wireless communication has made the world into a small global village. Use of technological, personal assistants such as Google assistant, Siri assistant, and Cortana assistance has revolutionized how commands are given to computer systems. This means one has not to necessarily interact with a device physically but can just interact with a system through talking to it.  In addition, algorithms have been developed to aid normal problems like the traffic problems. In addition, the discovery of self-driven cars has aided ease congestion in the cities since the cars interact with traffic algorithms to ensure that traffic congestion is eased.

Wireless and mobile systems have also changed the way education is delivered to the students. With the rise of online schools, online libraries, online tutors and distance learning programs, one can study from wherever location they are at (Kim, Mims & Holmes, 2006). In addition, students can benchmark other schools through video conferencing technologies. Virtual reality technology as also assisted in how students can visit different cities of interest during lectures. Google has introduced a virtual reality way of taking trips to different locations. Hence, learning has been made better by the mobile and wireless systems integration. In support of the students with special needs, systems, which can be talked to give directions for the blind, have been created and implemented (Tokuda, 2001).

Conclusion

Wireless and mobile systems are all over installed in the devices we use in our daily lives. The technologies in the systems are supportive and significantly important to how communication is done. These technologies not only support our social lives but also creates economic gain example through freelancing jobs. Wireless and mobile systems have done more benefit to people interact in the current world. In addition, an organization can now be easily managed using Local Area Networks (LANs). Hence, it is evident that the systems have brought efficiency in ways of communication. Continued growth of these technologies will ensure that every done whether is ordering for services r goods is all done through our mobile devices. The digitized world is better and more efficient. In conclusion, wireless and mobile technologies should be embraced since they make the world a better place.
