View of good and evil in religions

The view of good and evil, this category has a series of similarities across many of the religions in question. Unless there is a kind of disagreement between the religions, this is not of much interest to many people. The belief is important to the followers of this religion because they believe it leads to reincarnation after death, it is their guide for their life on earth. According to Jainism, right is represented by God while evil is represented by anguish in natural life, natural catastrophes, and sin. All this is communicated to the people of this religion to ensure a peaceful afterlife and resurrection.

As stated in Buddhism, good and evil are both integral aspects of life; are manifested in humanity’s daily life and hence can never be avoided. This point is significant to the Buddhists as they should be saved from sin with the goal of achieving nirvana. According to their beliefs, Nirvana is an end to suffering and with a hope of escaping samsara which represents the cycle of death and rebirth.

Daoism & Confucianism as a religion originated from Tao which means ‘the way.’ The perspective of good and evil according to this religion is based on whether the act in question each and everyone in the Tao. Salvation is focused on life rather than life after death. The actions of the people are worth the good when they are alive. In this religion life after death in beliefs are identical to those in Buddhism.

Shinto is a religion that regards everything as part of a single unified creation. According to this faith, humans are viewed as fundamentally good, and that evil comes from evil spirits. Humans do not do or cause evil on their accord but are driven by an unholy source. Shiniest believe in life after death where they eventually become part of a collective ancestral spirit. They, therefore, clean themselves of evil in the preparation for this.

Judaism is a faith that bases its teaching primarily on the old testament of the Bible. The followers maintain that human beings have the ability to choose good or evil. God has given humanity the intelligence they need to make the right choices in life, the good choices. When one practices good, they go to heaven after death. But their primary focus is not life after death but life here on earth, to foster good practice.

Religion is the belief and worship of a supreme being; the majority of religions believe in God as the supreme being. Beliefs of the origin of human life and life after death are what show the significant contrast in the various religions. For instance, according to Christianity, there is life after death, where the soul goes to heaven while people of the Shinto religion believe that after death, spirits eventually become a part of a collective ancestral spirit (Van Hooser ).

Different religions have different practices on their calendars, but all of them have the various traditions that they observe, they have various festivals that they attend or hold at different times, this is what all religions have in common even though the specific practices are different.

Religion influences our daily lives. For instance, strict adherents of various faiths do not accept a marital relationship between followers of different religions. There are many ways religion influences daily life, and that’s the reason why people question right or wrong before engaging in a majority of acts.
