Baby Boomers and Millennials Boost Population in Parts of Rural America

The population of the United States is being reshaped by young adults and older adults of between 30 and 35 years and 65 and above years respectively. The younger adults are linked with changes and technological advancements in the economic growth whereas the older generation has been associated with the regions that are affiliated with recreation. This is an indication that the younger generation lives in the populated urban areas whereas the older generation prefers to live in the less populated rural areas. This is the reason why in the United States, the rural areas are less populated and these areas experience less or no population growth.  The age-definite population growth in various rural areas is affiliated with the widespread demographic trends like the aging of the baby boom group as well as the entry of people of different age groups in these regions. Besides, the current Unite States energy boom has motivated the uneven development of the young-adult populace in the rural regions by encouraging more people of the young generation to move to continue staying in or in energy-rich regions. It has also been noted that there is a shift in migration by Young adults away from regions whose economies depend heavily on manufacturing. This is primarily because of the location of these areas; close to metropolitan sections. The oldest baby boomers have started to reach the retirement age, as a result, the population of the older age has rapidly increased in the last 17 years and this age group is doing well in counties that rely on rural farming.
